The fat pads on the abdomen are not attractive on neither female nor male bodies. You can help yourself to model the figure you wish to have with liposuction, which will remove the excess fat from the problematic body part for good. Its accumulation in certain body parts is influenced by changes in the metabolism as we age, by genetic predispositions and by lifestyle.

WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
One, two, perhaps more
When you decide on liposuction, you are heading towards modelling your figure. Do not start shopping for smaller clothes yet. A pre-surgery consultation with a surgeon precedes every procedure at the Aesthevita clinic. You will tell him/her what you wish to change about your body and he/she will provide you with the entire plan of the procedure. It may happen that the surgeon recommends you to suck the fat out of two or three body parts to achieve a better final result.
The result for men with a typical “beer” belly does not have to be so striking. The fat is not stored in the subcutaneous tissue but around the internal organs for many of them. It cannot be sucked out by the surgeon from there. This may also be the subject of pre-surgery consultation.
Do not only rely on liposuction
Do you think you have tried everything but abdomen fat is still there? The dispositions for the parts where your body stores the subcutaneous fat are genetic. Women usually suffer from bigger buttocks, fat in the hips and in the thighs. But larger fat gain around the abdomen area is no exception. In the case of men, the most susceptible body part is precisely the abdomen, then back and double chin. The metabolism is getting slower with age and the amount of stored fat increases. There is one ally – liposuction.
Right before the procedure
While you are impatiently counting the last days left until the date of the surgery, you will undergo a pre-surgery examination with blood sampling and an ECG. The patients aged over 60 undergo an x-ray of the lungs as well, for smokers the age limit is lowered to 50+.
WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON
Almost no scarring
The time is up, the procedure begins. The surgeon applies a special solution into the subcutaneous tissue at the very moment when the anaesthesia starts to work. Your subcutaneous fat will be dissolved better thanks to it and will be sucked out. The cannula which has a diameter of only a few millimetres and that is connected to the device creating suction will get rid of your fat cells. And the scars that will be left after the procedure are exactly of the same diameter. Stitching the wounds with absorbable sutures and applying a sterile bandage come at the end of the surgery.
Choose the type of anaesthesia conscientiously
The liposuction is performed under both local and general anaesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients – it is painless which will be particularly appreciated by men. Did you choose local anaesthesia anyway? Then take into account that you will have to cope with the pressure of the cannula through which the surgeon sucks the fat out.
How much fat does the surgeon suck out?
During the liposuction, the fat leaves the body together with blood. Therefore, the surgeon can suck out only a certain amount of it. Calculate 1 % of your weight and multiply it by four or five. The result is the maximum amount of fat which can be sucked out during one liposuction procedure. Nevertheless, it is still true that the surgeon can suck out no more than 5 litres of fat during one surgery regardless the weight of the patient.
THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY
Simply take a rest
In the days right after the surgery, your body will automatically signal to you that it needs to rest. Do not push yourself over the limit for at least a week after the procedure. The bruises and swelling will disappear within three weeks. Approximately six weeks is enough to recover and start doing sports again and handle the usual physical activities. Massage the treated area during your recovery. It significantly promotes proper healing of the scarred subcutaneous tissue.
Tight garment that heals
Do not take off the compression garment in which you leave the clinic for the next 6 weeks (except for a shower), it prevents creating more bruises and facilitates healing.
Tip: We recommend wearing and changing at least two compression garments in order for the wounds to be constantly kept in a clean environment. You can wash the clothes on a daily basis shortly after the surgery.
The desired curves will become visible gradually
It is worth being patient – and even more so when you are waiting for the results of the liposuction. The treated body parts may be finding their final shape for several months. Do not worry, the figure you are craving for will gradually appear. Although, it won’t be right after the last bruise disappear or after you stop wearing the compression garment
HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE
Change your habits
The fat cells behave according to our genetic predisposition and the way we look after our body. Liposuction can get rid of the fat cells but it is not omnipotent. Set yourself a resolution that you will not slip back into the old bad habits and you will change your lifestyle after recovery. This way you will keep your modelled figure.
The fat is no longer stored in the treated areas after the liposuction. The fat cells are gone from there forever. However, the body cannot be fooled so easily. It will find other areas to store fat; therefore, your effort is necessary for the long-term effect of the liposuction. Evaluate your diet and how much you exercise. Even small things count – go for a walk and walk the stairs instead of using the elevator on the way home or to work.
