What is happening in the operating room
The surgeon will remove the excess skin by a thin incision made in the natural fold of the upper eyelid and also under the lashes of the lower eyelid. If necessary it is also possible to remove a layer of fat from the eye area. He/she will cover the wounds with a plaster and a sterile bandage at the end of the surgery. The operation takes approximately one hour and can be performed under local anaesthesia.
With respect to the location of the scars in the fold of the upper eyelid and the lashes of the lower eyelid, the scars after the blepharoplasty remain almost invisible. However, a proper process of recovery is essential.
